As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The submitted paper must be original work, has never been published in any scientific journal, not submitted to any media during the review process, and is not being submitted for another publication unless the author has officially cancelled the paper in the Veterinary Biomedical and Clinical Journal.
The Statement Form is the author statement that contains requirements that the authors must fulfil including the author responsibility, the category of the manuscript submitted, and ethical clearance for studies with humans or using animals.
Manuscripts are written in Microsoft Word, A4 pages, 1.5 line space, with the left, right, upper, and lower margin of 2.5 cm, except for Graphics using Graphic/Chart format and images using JPG/JPEG/PNG format
The written work is typed using the font Times New Roman and written in Indonesian or English language with scientific writing standards
The topic of the submitted paper has been confirmed to have no potential conflict with research bioethics.
The manuscript does not have to follow the template of the published article in the VBCJ
Research topic includes one of the topics of Veterinary Medicine, Biomedicine, Health Biotechnology, Animal Reproduction (breeding and genetics, reproduction and physiology, nutrition, feed sciences, agrostology, animal products, biotechnology, behaviour, welfare, health and veterinary, livestock farming system, integrated farming system, socio-economic, and policy)
Author Guidelines
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Veterinary Biomedical and Clinical Journal adopts a zero-plagiarism policy and uses plagiarism detection software (similarity check program) to prevent plagiarism in published articles.
VBCJ has started publishing articles since 2019, with a target of publishing two times a year, in January and July.
When submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review must be followed.
CASE STUDY
The total word for a published case study is 1500 to 2000 words with 20 or more references excluding figures, tables, etc.
The contents of the paper must be arranged in the following order: Title, Author Name, Affiliation, Email Address of the corresponding author, Abstract, Introduction, Case Description (Signalment, Anamnesis, Examinations, Diagnosis, Treatment), Discussion (Conclusion can be written in a separate section or in a paragraph in the discussion section), Author contributions, Acknowledgment (optional), and References.
Title: The title used must be short, clear, specific, informative and reflect the article's content. Maximum title length is 14 words.
Author's name is written full name without a title.
Affiliation of the author's institution name.
Abstract must be written in a single paragraph and not more than 250 words. The abstract contains the introduction, objectives of the study, methods, results, and conclusions without citing references, written in 10 pt font size and single line spacing. For an article written in the Indonesian language, an English abstract must be provided.
Keywords should contain 3 - 5 words or phrases.
Introduction: The introduction is written in 12 pt font and must be brief, current, and objective. The introduction should be written efficiently and supported by references.
Case Description: It should be clearly written and contain a complete description of the Signalment, Anamnesis, Examinations, Diagnosis, and Treatment.
Discussions: It should discuss only relevant aspects regarding the key findings of the case. Discussion may be presented with Case Description under the heading Case Study. In this situation, the conclusion should be presented under a different heading. Up to three levels of subsection can be used to organize a section.
Conclusion: It should be written briefly in one paragraph, summarize the research objectives obtained, and conclude the research. Conclusion can be written as a separate section of the manuscript or as a part of the discussion section in the last paragraph of the section.
Acknowledgment (optional) must be given to the person or institution assisting the research.
References:
Make sure that any references that have been cited in the paragraph are also presented in the reference list and conversely.
It is recommended that authors to use a reference application manager (Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, etc) to prepare citations and reference lists/libraries.
References must be as per APA (American Psychological Association) 7th edition style.
References must be within the last 10 years of publication, with a minimum proportion of journal articles of 80%.
Authors may not use practical guidebooks, opinions in the newspaper, or essays, as references.
Electronic publications can only be used from competent and authorized sources.
RESEARCH ARTICLEandSHORTCOMMUNICATION
Research Article. Its main manuscript should be 4000-6000 words long with 25 or more references.
Short Communication. Short Communication is a short overview of a research topic relevant to the field. The length of the main manuscript of a published perspective ranges from 1500 to 2000 words, with 20 or more references.
The contents of the research article and short communication must be arranged in the following order: Title, Author Name, Affiliation, Email Address of the corresponding author, Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion (optional), Acknowledgment (optional), References

Materials and Methods:
It should be clearly written and contain a complete description of the research procedure. When the study is experimental, the condition of the animal (breed, sex, age, weight, and weighing conditions [e.g., with or without restrictions on feed and (or) water]) needs to be explained clearly and completely.
Authors must ensure that research involving animals has a statement sheet containing the name of the ethical authority and registration number that is valid. The author must clearly state the commercial information of the products and equipment used in the research, such as commercial name, product/equipment specifications, city, and country
Statistical methods must be used to analyze data obtained.
Results: Data must be presented in paragraphs in the result section. Paragraphs should explain data displayed in tables, figures and/or graphics, but numbers should not be repeated too often in paragraphs.
Discussion: Discussion should interpret the key findings presented in the result section by providing summaries of the findings supported by appropriate literature. The content of the discussion must show relevance to the results obtained. Discussion may be presented with results under the heading Result and Discussion. In this situation, the conclusion should be presented under a different heading.
Conclusion: It should be written briefly in one paragraph, summarize the research objectives obtained, and conclude the research. Conclusion can be written as a separate section of the manuscript or as a part of the discussion section in the last paragraph of the section.
Acknowledgment (optional) must be given to the person or institution assisting the research.

REVIEW ARTICLE
It should be 6000 - 8000 words long excluding figures, tables and graphics, with 50 or more references.
Review article must provide methods for selecting articles to be included in the review. If a statistical method is used, it should be presented clearly.
Review articles should be written under the following order of sections: Title, Author Name, Affiliation, Email Address of the corresponding author, Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgement and Reference. For details of the terms of the specific section, please refer to the Research Article format.
FIGURES, TABLES and GRAPHICS
FIGURES
The title must be clear and concise, placed under the figure with a font size of 10 pt and single line spacings. It is centrally placed. The figure size is at least 300 dpi

Bar charts are made in two dimensions, and each variable must have a name and unit. For the line graph, use a line thickness of 1.5 pt. If multiple lines are distinguished, use solid, long-dash, short-dash, and dotted lines; avoid using grey or shaded lines. Please use the following symbols to identify curves and data points : □, ■, ○, ▲, ∆, ◊, ♦, +, and ×.
